Festival where different cultures meet, accompanied by artistic, musical and theatrical performances.
The Orestiadi are full of visual arts that take place every summer in the spaces of the Baglio di Stefano, in the Gibellina Nuova, interspersed with works of art.
Today they represent the oldest contemporary theatre festival born in Sicily, the shows began way back in 1981 and, every year, they are a date with the big names of the entertainment world.
The 2019 edition returns to the stage from July 6th to August 10th and, returns to light up the summer in Belice for the 38th time.
The 38th edition of the Orestiadi features artists such as Gigi Lo Cascio, Roy Paci and Ninni Bruschetta. The festival will be articulated in narrative paths that come together through the places of Gibellina. A journey made of words with four national premiers, two projects under 35, two productions at the Cretto di Burri and an original reading of the character of Ulysses and other Sicilian stories that tell the fight against the mafia.
Stories that will be told over the duration of a month by the words and gestures of many artists: Gigi Lo Cascio, Rocco Papaleo, Salvo Arena, Gaia Insegna, Roy Paci, Ninni Bruschetta, Marco Baliani and many others. The opening of the performances on July 6 will be the National Premiere of “Carapace”, a theatrical show by Roy Paci and Pablo Solari and with the participation of the Corleone Ensemble.
